If you are an academic please join the academic links group which is building links between the Al Quds University and academics in and around Camden.

Camden and Abu Dis both house universities that are of national importance - in Camden, UCL, SOAS, Birkbeck, Institute of Education as well as the British Library and Further Education colleges: Westminster Kingsway, Mary Ward Centre, Working Men's College. Abu Dis houses the main campus of the Al-Quds University (the Arabic University of Jerusalem).

At the Al-Quds University, however, staff and students are struggling to study in a normal way in the face of interruptions from the army, delays at checkpoints, a massive Wall built across the campus that divides the teaching areas from the library, and severe restrictions on travel.

Abu Dis-Camden academic links works to build links between staff in Camden universities and the Al Quds University Abu Dis campus. Recent activities have included visits of academics in both directions, work with Gender Studies Centres in both places on the Stories from our Mothers project, support for the Human Rights clinic in the Al Quds University, work by CADFA volunteers at the Al Quds University, help with materials for the Al Quds University Library.
