Education under occupation
Palestinian education has suffered enormously from the pressures of Occupation. Young people in Abu Dis have lost years of schooling from closures and curfews. They have poorly resourced schools and have seen terrible things in the street - people shot and killed, family members arrested, older people humiliated, their own way blocked by the army and the Wall. However, teachers from Camden who have visited Abu Dis have been struck by the tremendous motivation to learn that these young people have.
